A breathtaking home overlooking the bayou. The homeowner had beautiful furniture and antiques that were tucked away -- and beneath mountains of clutter in some cases!

Such a large room but all the furniture was bunched together. We removed an extra sofa and
repurposed several pieces to open up the space, and to create flow. It's common knowledge that
many Houstonians prefer traditional over contemporary homes. That said, this home has two
strikes against it -- one is the contemporary styling and the other is the expansive windows in place
of traditional wall space. We didn't want prospects to be afraid to put things in front of the windows.
We therefore highlighted the antiques and utilized the windows as wall space. Click on any image to

We thinned out the seating at the dining table and repurposed the beautiful carved
wooden chairs to the living area, replacing and removing an extra mismatched loveseat to an
offsite storage. We took the large table out of the entry. Those sofas lining the upper hall
were sent to the sunroom (below). Click on any image to see a larger view.
The lovely bureau was moved to the dining room to create a buffet or serving area. Click

Look how much larger the room appears. And we dug out some of their wedding silver
to accessorize. Click on any image to see a larger view.
The sofas will be much more appreciated in their new
setting. A lovely chest and two of the dining chairs now
frame the window.

Now you want to spend time out here. Existing items all went to storage. We did hang the
beautiful stained glass over the door jam leading from the kitchen.
